Lomond Manse is a human that was once a TIE pilot for the Galactic Empire of the Milky Way until the empire's defeat and dissolution. He was wounded in the final battle, which left him with a limp and the need of a cane. Since then he remained on the planet Mars, within the Sol System where the empire made its final assault against Earth, unable to afford transport home. He is willing to betray and play two opposing sides if it means he can earn extra money, which he did when the Crystal Bounty Hunters hired him to help them find the salmitton named Clear.

Description[]

Appearance[]

He is five foot, six inches tall. Middle-aged, he has a black and white beard, while the hair at the front of his head is receding. His eyes are blue and small, which makes them stand out. Though he is well built, the muscle is from earlier days and isn't kept up. He has a limp due to a wounded leg[CatB 1].

Clothing[]

His clothing is old and worn out, but not dirty. They are heavily patched and mended, but cleaned and ironed neatly as possible, demonstrating his lack of money to replace them but a continued pride in appearance[CatB 1].

Voice[]

He has a notable Imperial accent[CatB 1].

Personality[]

Desperation for money generally drives him, committing betrayal and playing two sides of a conflict for extra coin. He does have some morals and will aid those he has betrayed, at least in some small way, if he thinks they're in danger - so long as it doesn't conflict with him being paid by either side. He is self-deprecating, knowing how he has fallen from his glory days. Despite this, he remains largely jovial in nature, making merry and jokes[CatB 1].

Resentments[]

President Polk[]

Main article: President Polk

He harbours a deep resentment for President Polk, who led the Galactic Empire in its final engagement and ultimate defeat. He believes a president should not have been leading the military and blames Polk directly for the result of the war and for Manse's own current situation. He grows angry and bitter when the thought occurs to him, going from happy to rage in a moment[CatB 1].

Talents[]

Piloting[]

Lomond Manse was a TIE fighter pilot, affording him starfighter piloting skills[CatB 1].

Reflexes[]

Because of his piloting skills, he has very good reflexes, even out of the cockpit and even despite his physical disability[CatB 1].

Possessions[]

Cane[]

Manse as an extendable cane, which he can keep concealed when necessary. This is for his wounded leg, which causes him to limp[CatB 1].

History[]

During the Battle for Earth, the final Posts of Clear and the World of Tomorrow, Lomond Manse was shot down over Mars when he was piloting his TIE fighter. Due to the defeat of the Galactic Empire of the Milky Way, which had been led into the war by President Polk, the faction dissolved and Manse was left stranded on Mars with no funds for a return trip home. This left him with a festering hatred for Polk, believing the man should never have been in command of the military, and a wounded leg so that he needs to use a cane to help with his limp[CatB 1].

Manse took a job from the Crystal Bounty Hunters on a contract they earnt from Tiberion Asclepiodotus. He was to help them locate a salmitton named Clear, who was the last of her species and a well-known survivor. Given Tiberion's reputation for genetic splicing, Manse suspected that he planned to use the genetics of Clear for one of his experiments into creating the 'perfect being'. Though he took the job, Manse decided to earn some extra cash by informing Clear of the danger, whilst simultaneously stalling her for the hunter, Sayo, to arrive on scene, where Manse had found Clear in Saffron 5. He also sold Clear data on the members of the Crystal Bounty Hunters, which Clear informed him she would pass on to Saffron 5 security for even more money than she had paid him[CatB 1]. He did then inform the bounty hunters, after Clear escaped thanks to Manse's own tip off, that Clear had a contact in security. News of this new betrayal was passed onto Clear by Quiet[CatB 2].
