The Plothole

Lightstaff is an old man and considered a forefather of the Never-ending Story. He has an ill temperament and doesn't hold the NeS in high regard. He was last seen in Glen Burnie, U.S.A., with his grandchildren where he would tell the story of the origins of the story.

Lightstaff is a wrinkled, old man that is permanently attached to an oxygen tank to live. When walking he requires a cane[NeS1 1].

Lightstaff is grumpy and ill-tempered, even towards his own grandchildren. He considers the NeS to be boring and that's why he left it[NeS1 1].

Lightstaff reports that he had his own ship when he used it to land on the comet headed towards Earth[NeS1 1]. The ship's original name was lost to time and would be later simply named after its owner as; The Lightstaff. It was acquired by Antestarr and stored at Antestarr's Asteroid Warehouse in the Kuiper Belt before it was eventually sold to the salmitton Clear[CatH 1].

Lightstaff sat in his house in Glen Burnie, U.S.A., with his grandchildren watching the pay-per-view matches from Ares' Colosseum on TV. He was, reportedly, a member of the original NeS Heroes before NeS1 Page 1 opened and he told his grandchildren of the story thus far; he stated that a comet was bound for the Earth and that he, and others, landed on the comet only to discover that it was part of a scheme of Grand Admiral Thrawn to conquer the Earth. The French tried to destroy the comet but their missiles were ineffective. Ares then drew in the Writers to write Character battles in his colosseum but then the administrators arrived and now Justyn the Thread Killer is threatening to delete the Never-ending Story. Lightstaff then told his grand kids to keep watching the matches and keep him informed[NeS1 1].
